Thermal printer rolls work using heat instead of ink or toner. The paper is coated with a special chemical layer that reacts when exposed to heat from the printer’s thermal print head. Wherever heat is applied, the paper turns dark — creating text, numbers, and images without the need for ink cartridges or ribbons.
Under heat lamps, prolonged sun exposure, or high ambient temperatures the paper may: Turn grey or black in areas, Fade over time and Become difficult to read.
